SUNDAY NOT BEST

A Sunday stall outside outside Waitrose in Witney in late July raised £138 , edging the branch towards £3.5K for the year.

Chair Dave Thompson says: "The sum was lower than average but Waitrose is only open from 10-4 on Sundays and a couple of nearby stores don't open at all so overall it was not too bad a figure."

Back to a Saturday in Witney Market in early August, £237 was raised and then boosted by another £150 from generous friends and family at Dave's 80th birthday party.
