LATE BLENHEIM BLOSSOM

Two days at Blenheim in late June raised £280 after a modest start on the Saturday made just £74..

Chair Dave Thompson explained: "We began in the same place as last year in the court yard leading to the Palace but the annual Flower Festival with its massive attendance was sited 300 yards away much nearer the main entrance so we missed all that footfall. "

Dave contacted Blenheim's head of operations who agreed to site us for day two inside the Festival right by the entrance/exit. Said Dave: "It was pole position and we hope for similar next year. We made over £200 on the Sunday -- though very little in the last hour as people exiting holding large amounts of flora found it much too difficult to stop !!"

Next up is by Waitrose in Woolgate, Witney on July 27 and after that it's Dave's Coffee Shop Canter round Witney Market Square on August 9 then Tesco, Faringdon on August 30.

Dave said: "We're just over £3K for the year and with a busy summer ahead we're looking forward to another big total at the end of 2025."
