MILE-A-DAY OFF TO FLYING START
RNLI Faringdon has set a £1,000 target as part of the nationwide May Mile A Day challenge.
Chair Dave Thompson, 80, and keen supporter Helen Benton, 78, have already committed to covering a mile every day in May and are hoping others will join in to help boost RNLI funds.
Dave said: "We're dubbed Fearless Faringdon and raised £735 in the first two weeks so we are very optimistic of reaching our goal. It'll be great to have as many people as possible involved, either walking, running, cycling - or donating. All support as ever is most welcome."
Helen will be walking every day despite recent health issues while Dave, a keen cyclist, will bike it.
Helen said: "Getting fitter while raising much needed funds for such a worthy cause has to be a win-win situation. The more people who join us the more we can raise. Please help us to smash our £1,000 target."
RNLI Faringdon has raised around £14,000 over the last couple of years. To donate, please see: RNLI - Fearless Faringdon
